About Grady's

Women- and family-owned since 1942.

Before we were Grady's, we were Pueblo Hotel Supply Co., a downtown Pueblo supply house selling food service and bar equipment to the restaurants and hotels of southern Colorado. It is still our legal name, and the phone number on our old letterhead, (719) 542-8853, is the one we answer today.

Three generations later, the family business designs, equips and installs kitchens for MICHELIN-starred restaurants, national chains, schools and the U.S. military.

A supply house on West 4th Street

Pueblo Hotel Supply Co. opens its doors, outfitting the dining rooms, hotel kitchens and bars of a growing steel town with food service equipment, bar equipment and supplies. The company's address, 430 West 4th Street, became a fixture for Pueblo's restaurant owners for decades.

1965

The Freeman family takes the helm

Warren Freeman buys the company. His wife, Dorothy, later leads it, beginning a tradition of women leading the business that continues today. Customers came for equipment and stayed for the relationships.

Warren's first kitchen was the China Lantern in downtown Pueblo. And Dorothy never took herself too seriously: one time she climbed onto a push dolly and took a ride, with Jamie and Luke doing the pushing.
